Introducing a New Path to Renewable Energy to Western Massachusetts
As part of a unique partnership with Crane & Co., ReEnergy and Berkshire Renewable Power, Envergent Technologies is bringing RTP™ and the liquid biofuel it creates to Berkshire County Massachusetts. The partnership has launched an RTP project to create a drop-in replacement fuel from local forestry waste materials. Crane & Co., a paper manufacturer, will use the resulting biofuel to generate heat for plant operations. In the process, the partnership will create jobs and lessen the region's reliance on unstable energy markets.
Italian Power Company Selects RTP™ for Renewable Electricity Project
A project under way in Europe will use RTP to convert woody biomass into RTP green fuel to generate electricity. Italian power company Industria e Innovazione and Envergent Technologies are working together on developing an RTP facility that will process an estimated 150 bone-dry metric tons of pine forest residues and demolition wood per day. The resulting biofuel will be used for the generation of renewable electricity.
For more information, visit the Industria e Innovazione website dedicated to the project.
The Production of Electricity From Wood and Other Solid Biomass
Envergent Technologies' RTP™ (rapid thermal processing) technology offers an attractive and cost-effective way to convert solid biomass into electricity. When compared to a direct combustion/steam power plant, an RTP advanced cycle power plant is expected to produce more power from the same amount of input biomass, and have a lower capital cost.
